Plan your Slimbridge adventure and immerse yourself in a world of wetland wildlife, this summer holiday. Enjoy the below activities, included in your admission ticket during the summer holidays!

Slimbridge make it their priority for their wetlands and wildlife to be accessible to everyone.

From Saturday 23 July to Sunday 4 September, why not try the following daily activities..

Download the family friendly app, Wetland Heroes and discover the full extent of Slimbridge this summer holiday. Experience Slimbridge like never before by going on fact finding missions and taking on fun challenges suitable for the whole family.

11am | Science show, Living Wetland Theatre: Experience a habitats themed show in the theatre. Activities will include making your own water filtration system!

11am – 12.30pm | Engagement activities, Arctic Adventure: Weigh and measure a swan, complete analysis of poo samples, or track visitors movement around site – as we do with birds out in the wild.

12 – 12.45pm | Lettuce Feed Nene, Mission Possible: Feed lettuce to the rarest goose in the world – the nene, in a Hawaiian landscape.

2 – 3pm | Pond Dipping, Pond Zone: The ponds have suddenly come alive in time for summer! On the lead up to summer we have caught both boatmen species, bloodworms, sticklebacks, damselfly nymphs and the very first dragonfly nymph of the season. See what you can find below the surface.

3.30pm – 4.15pm | iSandbox, Rain Garden: Stimulate the senses with our Wetlands Interactive Sandbox and see what landscapes you can create. The iSandbox uses augmented reality to take a traditional sandpit to magical new proportions.

Watch birds fly overhead in the new Living Wetland Theatre, including the famous Sprout the pelican, Nzuri the crowned crane and other feathery friends. Typical times are 10.30am, 12.30pm & 2.30pm but please check the board at admissions on arrival.
