Fair Shares organise Gentle Walks in Stratford Park in Stroud every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month.
We usually meet at the Museum in the Park in Startford Park at 10.30am
for a coffee and chat, with the walks starting about 11am. If the weather is
unsuitable for an outside walk, we walk round the museum and visit the
exhibition gallery, so we meet whatever the weather. Sometimes we can’t
meet during half terms because of the Museum’s capacity for visitors and
we don’t meet during August.

The
walks are suitable for those who need to use a wheelchair or mobility
aids or those that struggle with walking any long distance. If needed we
arrange two walks, one for those who can manage to walk around the park
and lake and another for those who can manage only a short distance, so
we try to accommodate anyone who would benefit from a gentle walk. The
walks are also suitable for those living with various stages of
dementia. Disabled parking is available either outside or near the
museum, just drive to the top of the leisure centre car park and press
the button next to the barrier then tell the receptionist you are there
for the walks.
