First three dates –

October 15th

November 19th

Do you live in Gloucestershire and have a child with an ASC diagnosis or a child who has Autistic traits?

We are very excited to share this newly funded family project.

The sessions will be held on Saturday afternoons 1-3 pm at Airthrie School in Cheltenham.

The sessions will be monthly, and we will confirm dates later this month – likely a September start.

The invitation is for your entire family group. That might be mum and children, dad and children, mum and dad and a granny and children etc.

Sessions are flexible and will depend very much on who signs up to come. We will tailor the sessions in the best way we can for your family.

We have a lovely and very secure space that is wheelchair-friendly, an accessible loo, an excellent outside space, and a light garden room to make music. There are two light, soundproofed studios if some quiet area or 1/1 tuition is wanted. There is a little kitchenette for light refreshment, and there will be craft activities, so there is an option for siblings that might not want to join in family music-making.

We will be playing with sound and movement in a way that suits your family, and there is no rule or strict learning outcomes. It will be a space to enjoy with your families, such as having a cup of tea and chatting in the kitchenette with other parents/grandparents while your children enjoy exploring instruments and sound or exploring music-making together.

If these sessions sound like something your family would enjoy, please email and arrange a convenient time for a phone call or continue to use email to ascertain your family makeup and how we can make these sessions enjoyable for you.

Space is limited so that we can keep the sessions enjoyable for everyone.

Our music teachers and helpers are kind and understanding and have up-to-date training and qualifications in children’s neurodiversity. We are not perfect, but we are always willing to learn and passionate about making this work from our own lived experience. Some of us teachers and helpers also being neurodiverse.

The venue is on a wide road with free parking for up to 6 hours. It’s a 5-minute walk from Cheltenham Spa train station and closer to local bus routes.
