Explore: Character Creation

In this course we explore everything about characters and how to make them step off the page into our imaginations! We will explore a range of characters created by professional writers and study the techniques used to bring them alive for the reader. We will experiment with different processes and exercises to plan and flesh out protagonists, whilst also spending time looking at minor characters, their roles and functions within texts. For the final session in the course there will be an opportunity to meet up and discuss what has been learnt, with an option to share writing around the characters we have created.

These courses are fully subsidised for participants who are 19+ and are below a full level 2 in their education and/or are unemployed/low waged.
